Our School Evangelical Elementary School is a ministry of the Evangelical United Church of Christ. Our school provides a quality education in a Christian environment to students and families in our area. The school has been in existence for twenty seven years and offers outstanding early childhood and kindergarten through eighth grade programs.
School Philosophy The Evangelical School is committed to providing a total educational experience for each individual student and recognizes that each student is a special person created by God. An atmosphere of mutual trust, cooperation, and communication is fostered among students, parents, and staff. Implicit in the program is:

Highlights Our school is located on the corner of Homer Adams Parkway and Pierce Lane in Godfrey, Illinois.
Class size is limited to twenty five students. Aides are provided in classes if the need arises. Classroom teachers are certified. Special classes are offered in religion, music, computers, physical education, library, and Spanish or art. Before and After School care is offered. The Before School Program begins at 7:00 a.m. and After School Program remains open till 6:00 p.m. Parent involvement is encouraged and welcome. Children attend worship service every Wednesday morning. Children are involved in two service projects per year.· School hours are 8:45 AM to 3:15/3:30 PM. The up-to-date computer lab and classroom computers have internet access. A full size gym is available for physical education and sports activities. A daily hot lunch program is offered. Student ActivitiesStudents Participate in a wide variety of school activities including weekly worship, choir, service projects, Olympiad, science fair, spelling bee, Young Authors, baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, art club, science club, and Student Council, and educational field trips.
Standardized Testing Evangelical students consistently score above national norms on standardized achievement tests. Second through eighth grade are assessed in the fall of each year using the Terra Nova, second edition.
Parent Involvement Our parents are actively involved in the school community, from volunteering in the classroom to chaperoning field trips. A dedicated Evangelical Parents Interested In Children (EPIC) supports students, parents and teachers through fund raising, special events, teacher recognition and school improvement.
Admissions Evangelical School is open to parents who wish their children to have a Christ-centered education. Evangelical has an open enrollment process. Applications are available at the school office. Applications may be turned in at any time with a $275 non-refundable application fee for kindergarten and a $75 non-refundable application fee for grades one through eight. $200 of the kindergarten fee is applied to the first month’s tuition. Community Activities Special trips highlight the school year for all grades. Students have enjoyed visits to the Science Center, Arch, Zoo and Butterfly House in St. Louis. Fourth graders take a trip to Springfield, and fifth graders visit Camp DuBois every fall. Seventh and eighth graders look forward to a week visiting Washington D.C. every other year.
